Three years ago, the plandemic was switched off and the second part of the Ukrainian-Russian war was switched on. Just like that. Did you notice the switch? I don’t blame you if you didn’t. Perhaps you were relieved that at last the nose napkin could be taken off of your face and the dread of vaccine mandates was no more. Or you made a mistake and believed what they propagandised you to believe. Then I am sorry.
Do you have this feeling that time is like sand between your fingers, an unstoppable stream of tiny sand grains running away from you? One moment is so important to you and the next moment you forget that the previous moment even existed. The only thing you notice is the additional wrinkles on your face.
This year the switch is happening in the US. The woke is off and “America First” is on.
I’ve seen a switch like it before. I was young and stupid, but the switch occurred overnight. As my dad said, “ I went to sleep in Soviet Lithuania and woke up in independent Lithuania”.
On the 10th of March of 1990, we were part of the dying communist beast of the USSR and on the 11th we were pulling down the last statues and plaques of Lenin. Communists became Catholics. KGB officers became business people. Gangsters became faces of authority.
I wonder when I will start to see the woke crowd kneeling in front of statues of Trump and the “America First” crowd cutting their blue hair off.
One day old mothers will leave us and children will leave us too. One day I will wake up and there will be no one left to talk to. The people I loved and cared about will be gone. Like grains of sand between my fingers.
And still, happenings will happen. People will fight wars they wouldn’t want to fight. Different ideologies, different religions and different gods will fight for a place under the sun. Love and hate still will be here but today I am switching off.
Hasta luego.
Mother’s Tears For A Stupid Hero
When the second leg of the war started, I and my family went to the Embassy of the Russian Federation to show our outrage to them. We went there to tell them that the war is not a solution. To tell them that the war is insanity. We were standing with people from all around the world. South Americans, Indians, Hungarians, Russians, Latvians and Belarussians, all of us opposed the war. We didn’t care where we came from, instead, we understood that it was idiocy to wage the war against Ukraine.
Sometimes switching off is the best self-preservation tactic. It’s just crazy watching all this from the outside.
America, like NZ, seems to reverse all laws every 4 years, every initiative, every previous government change to education, everything the majority population thought was a good idea at the time - disestablished.
I'm sure it didn't used to be like that. Once an action had been taken in the UK, it stuck and was very hard to change back. No one reversed Thatcher's policies. There is no reform on gatherings of over 3 people listening to repetitive beats, the poll tax remained, companies stayed private, the national grid was still sold, the railways were still private.
So why is this now the norm? Why do we have successive governments whose only policy is to reverse everything the previous government enacted?
It's tiring. It's divisive. It stops growth.
